Darija Silic is a Canadian-Croatian author and poet currently in her 5th year of study at the University of Western Ontario pursuing their degree in Creative Writing and English Literature. She is most passionate about writing fiction, especially in the science fiction and fantasy genres. Darija hopes to pursue video game art and narrative design as her career path and plans on attending college after completing her undergraduate degree at Western.
Darija describes their work as deeply personal (whether it's apparent to the reader or not) and defines most of it as queer post-humanist fiction. Their work explores themes like climate change, queer identity, and anarchy. Her main project is her creative writing thesis project: a queer post-human cyberpunk novel about environmental collapse, revolution, and love. You can find out more on the Sci-Fi & Fantasy page.
In their spare time, Darija loves to play video and board games, hike, read, draw and sketch, play with her cat, and spend time with friends.
